- What they neglect to say is
that this seeming coalition of grass roots organizations and
individuals is and has been bankrolled by mega-bucks foundations
from the beginning. In fact, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation
gave SOWS $200,000 in 2010 to support "their
integration with the Pew Environment Group. Funding will be
used to support staff participation in the integration efforts,
and to sustain communications/outreach during the transition
period" (link).
Some grass roots! What are the odds that the folks at Pew and Moore,
cashing in on their "investment," had SOWS send out a misleading
press
release opposing legislation that just passed in the House
putting a serious crimp in
EDF's/Jane Lubchenco's "want 'em or not, they're getting
catch shares" campaign (for more on this, click here
